North Carolina Diaries: Wine & Llamas

The Divine Llama Winery combines two of my favorite things: wine & a theme!

There "theme" as you may have guessed is llamas! Before coming I never would have known how fun it is to drink with these fury, spunky, and very photogenetic creatures.

This is a winery in the south so of course they have a beautiful porch you can sit on with rocking chairs. They made this winery family friendly so there is plenty of outside seating including picnic tables and fire pits. It's so nice they have picnic table since their is no restaurant on site you can feel free to bring your own picnic (occasionally they do have food trucks on site).

If you decide you would rather sip on one of there award winning wines inside instead of on the porch you can do so at their bar, in a private tasting room, or drink and shop around their store filled with clothes and trinkets.

If you want to do something a little more physical to work off all that wine you can do there llama trek. It's a 2 mile low-impact with you and llama as your partner.

My favorite part of the winery is the unlimited time you get to spend with the llamas. They're tons of llamas in all different colors, shape, and sizes. You can take your glass of wine with you to seem them and it is to be noted that they are behind a fence. The staff recommends you not pet them, because you know llamas are known to spit! Despite this warning I literally saw EVERYONE petting them. Except for me because I am a major chicken and I also hate breaking rules (fun fact!).

With that being said the llamas were extremely friendly and I never saw them spit on anyone. Also it seems that they live for the attention because they would pose perfectly whenever a camera was out.

So if you love wines, llamas, or just looking for something different to do definitely check out The Divine Llama Winery.
