Charleston Diaries: Great Photo Spots

The city of Charleston, SC is known for it's southern charm, award-winning cuisine, and it's historic architecture.

The pineapple is like Charleston's mascot so expect to have to wait your turn to be able to a photo with the fountain. Charleston reps the pineapple because it's supposed to represent hospitality. You will pineapple on t-shirts and mugs at gift shops as well as many of the residents will have a pineapple statue on their porch.

I had such a great time exploring this southern town and spent so much time just walking down the street (despite the rain) admiring all the houses. The architecture is old and beautiful with many grandiose houses with multiple wrap around porches. The most iconic street in the city is called Rainbow Row. It's name come from pastel colored houses that line the block.

A must-see spot that is actually free is the Angel Oak Tree. It's located right outside the city on John's Island. It's just a short drive and is totally worth it. The tree is over 65 years old and is said to be the oldest living oak tree in the entire South East.
