Montreal Favorites Guide

 

My husband and I visited Montréal for the first time about 3 years ago and we had the most amazing time. So when we wanted to spend our 6-year wedding anniversary at a fun travel destination, that wouldn’t be too far from home we thought why not make the 5-hour trip to this beautiful Canadian city.

 Many of our friends have never been to this diverse town and have asked us the low down on the city. I thought no better way to truly express my thoughts than to create a sort of guide of some of the fun things you must do when exploring this "almost" European city.

 I say "almost' because obviously, you are not in Europe but you will feel like you have been transported there. Seriously, you will experience all the European feels while you are walking across their cobblestone street, as you hear the beautiful langue of love  (a.ka. French) being spoken by almost everyone, you smell the aroma of freshly baking croissants and pastries, and as you pass at least 3 cafes on every block.

Barley

You will notice there are so many cafes on every block! Definitely take advantage of trying this one!

Mount Royal

⋒ Location: Montreal, QC H3H

1A1, Canada

This is a beautiful park that you can spend hours in and it has fantastic views of the entire city. It has many trails and different lookout areas.

To Note: Definitely pack a snack and have a picnic! You can easily find free parking on the street if you don't want to pay to park.

Slice & Soda

⋒ Location: 201 Saint-Paul St W, 

Montreal, Quebec H2Y 1Z9

⋒ What to order: Any slice of Pizza. 

They are also known for making creative sodas.

All pizza slices range between $5 -$6 CAD and the pizzas slices are huge.

⋒ To Note: Make sure to ask for your pizza to be piping hot!

Deux Saisons The aux Bulles

⋒ Location: 3922 Saint Denis St,

Montreal Quebec H2W 2M2

⋒ What to Order: Charcoal Milk tea 

served with Tapioca

The theme of this shop is 2D paper. It's simple but so cool. This place is worth visiting just to take photos, but the tea is really good too.

Drogheria Fine

⋒ Location: 68 Av. Fairmunt O, Montreal 

QC H2H 2M2

⋒ What to order: The only thing they sell is Gnocchi! 

That's right and it's only $5 CAD. 

You can add extra cheese or make it spicy for a small surcharge.

 To note: She closes early and only takes cash or debit card. She will take American dollars as well as Canadian.

Fairmount Bagel

⋒ Location: 74 Av. Fairmount O, 

Montreal, QC H2T 2M2 

(Only a few stores down from the Gnocchi!)

⋒ What to order: They only sell bagels 

and they are open 24 hours! 

Go to a Winery!

⋒ Location: Dunham, QC

This town is full of wineries and cider-ries that I couldn't just list one plus they are only an hour away from Montreal.

Go to Quebec City!

⋒ Location: About 2.5 hours from Montreal you can hike to a beautiful waterfall (bigger than Niagra) or explore the city center where the most photographed hotel in the world is located.
